Argued to be the best series and definitely one of the darkest ones. Tomino was depressed at the time… And I could feel it. It was hard to get used to the really old-school and basic animation at first, but THIS is the reason why Gundam is great. I felt my heart wrenching for characters that aren’t bishies, but REAL heros. The storyline and philosophy in this series is excellent. It’s the goal that all other series try to manipulate and fail horribly at. The timing and way characters come and go went perfectly, and the ending was so full of blood and tears, leaving no character left unscarred. Even Kamille, though left alive, is left mentally crippled.
